Dave
Married to Hayley with 2 children Scarlett 11 & Noah 8 from Oldham over the hills in Manchester. (Blue side)
As a kid back in the day riding motorbikes was part & parcel of growing up near where I lived. Trail bikes road bikes dads bikes brothers bikes it was whatever you could get your hands on and then off you went. Not that I would of course recommend that to anyone these days as back then roads were much quieter and vehicles were no where near as powerful but falling off still hurts all the same.
Many many many years later and never really having the money for bikes I drove cars worked in nightclubs and bar management all over the country up until 2008 when I closed the bar I then owned & set off on a new career as a driving instructor!
Married in 2007 I wanted a different lifestyle to raise kids in and bars & clubs didn’t suit. When the kids came along in 2010 & 2012 I was settled in as a grade 6 driving instructor and all was ticking along nicely.
Realising sitting on my arse all day for hours on end wasn’t helping me keep up with the kids I started to exercise more joining a CrossFit gym. Got fit and started competing at a masters level due to being an old fart but at least I was feeling a lot better. In 2015 now on my way to being a fitter version of me I decided for whatever reason that I’d do all my bike tests and get back on 2 wheels. Passed my Mod 2 on a Wednesday then toured Scotland with my mates on the Friday till Monday! I learnt more that weekend then any instructor could have ever taught me & I was hooked again. Track days, trail days followed and then my aim was always to move into instructing. The opportunity never really arose so it was summer tours and the occasional weekend blast out with the lads until Covid happened! 2wheelskool we’re looking & the timed seemed right. Starting with the CBTs but by year end the aim is to be fully qualified for all levels.
